STAGECOACH STUDENTS BACK ON WEST END STAGE

On 30th May 2021, 14 months after the Shaftesbury Theatre was forced to close due to the COVID pandemic, students from 11 Stagecoach schools have returned to the theatre for one night only.

Shaftesbury Theatre is the current home of the musical &Juliet and will reopen in September.

Stagecoach students were given an opportunity to perform at a test event for the theatre and for Stagecoach to see how theatres can work towards reopening.

The final show was streamed to the performers’ families back at home on the night so no one missed out on this historical event.

This was the first time that anyone has performed at the legendary London theatre in 14 months and Stagecoach students showcased a variety of performances during the event which hailed the return of live theatre to stages across the UK.

The Stagecoach schools that took part were Buckingham, Putney, Dulwich, Henley and Marlow, Twickenham and Teddington, Fulham, Godalming, Chorleywood and Rickmansworth, Epsom and Colchester.
