Step aside Mariah and Wham! There’s a new contender in (tinsel) town as students from Stagecoach Performing Arts join forces with Surrey band Lucky Skies to launch a bid for the Christmas Number One!

Surrey based band, Lucky Skies, have partnered with Stagecoach Performing Arts – the UK market leader in extra-curricular Performing Arts tuition – to record a new, classic Christmas song called ‘When You Know It’s Christmas.’
Lucky Skies are former Stagecoach employee Mark Thompson, Sharon Anderson, Lee Travis, and Marco Piantino.
Real musicians playing real instruments with a massive 6,534 Stagecoach students recorded on backing vocals. The vocals were recorded in situ in Stagecoach schools across England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Malta, and Canada.
Lucky Skies spent hours mixing the vocals onto the final track for release and produced a video featuring students from Stagecoach Woking.
Mark Thompson from Lucky Skies said: “Lucky Skies wrote and recorded ‘When You Know It’s Christmas’ and we wanted to give it a whole new dimension. With Stagecoach in mind, it was designed to be a fun and exciting project for all students involved. It’s fun to hear a song playing on the radio or on a streaming platform knowing your voice is on the track. We hope the track spreads a little festive joy this Christmas.”
Chase Demmers, Trafalgar Educational Partnerships & Programme Development Manager, said: “This has been such a fantastic project to be involved in. Quite often performance opportunities can bring in added costs for families, so it was brilliant to be able to offer something out to our network that everyone could be involved in without finances being a barrier. Not only that, but what a wonderful thing for our students who were involved to be able to say that their voices appear on a Christmas single! We are thrilled that over 60 of our Stagecoach territories from across the globe decided to get involved including the UK, Canada, and Germany.”
