Stars of the West End champion Pride Month with London Theatre Direct

10 June 2026

London Theatre Direct and Trafalgar Entertainment have released the first of a brand-new content series championing Pride Month, with the first video available to watch now.

Speaking to leading shows of the West End including The Devil Wears Prada, Kinky Boots, Oh, Mary! and more, the video series discusses the relationship between the queer community and theatre, and the ways in which we can continue celebrating and representing LGBTQ+ people and their allies, both on and off-stage.

Stars of stage and screen Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty, The Devil Wears Prada, Desperate Housewives), Matt Henry (Kinky Boots, The Lion King, The Devil Wears Prada), Dino Fetscher (Oh, Mary!, BBC’s Silent Witness, Sky’s Under Salt Marshes) speak exclusively to London Theatre Direct about their advice on pride, the community and how to be the best ally you can be.

Throughout the series, they are joined by Ru Fisher and Tosh Awanogho-Maud (Kinky Boots), Freddie King and Michael Vinsen (Titanique), James Davies-Williams and Katie Bradley (Moulin Rouge), representing members of the industry both on and off stage.

The piece is hosted by drag queen and star of the London cabaret scene, Yshee Black, who has previously worked on C4’s Late Night Lycett with Joe Lycett, hosted interviews for the BBC, performed in the West End and worked on-stage internationally for 10+ years.

At a period when Pride celebrations, queer venues and independent LGBTQ+ organisations are facing increasingly difficult times, this project is designed to educate, enlighten and educate fans of theatre and beyond, helping to profile and uplift actors, Front / Back of House workers, Producers, and everyone else in the theatre space.

Created by Ollie Tunmore and Glen Facey of London Theatre Direct, they commented: “We are so delighted to be working on this fabulous piece of content on behalf of London Theatre Direct. We have access to some of the leading shows from within the West End and consequently, some of the best talent the industry has to offer.”

They continued: “We’ve been met with such warmth and enthusiasm from our shows to be involved in this feature, which is equally as heart-warming as it is a testimony to how important the subject matter is. London Theatre Direct is producing this feature to further demonstrate the safe space that theatre provides for actors and audiences alike, and we are so pleased to see this project out in the world after months of work! We thank everyone who took part for their time and energy and hope it helps reach those who might need it, this Pride Month.”

Jess McCorie, Director of Partnerships and Campaigns at London Theatre Direct, added: “Our shows and partners are the beating heart of our work. It’s a privilege to support them all-year round and are very thankful to the shows, the cast members and all involved for helping to make this project happen. The LGBTQ+ community and its allies are such an integral part of the wonderful world of theatre and we are so pleased to be able to represent it through this feature, during Pride Month.”

Dame Rosemary Squire, Joint CEO Trafalgar Entertainment, concluded:
“Theatre has always been a powerful home for expression, identity and belonging – values that lie at the very heart of the LGBTQ+ community. Initiatives like this not only celebrate the extraordinary talent within our industry, but also reaffirm our responsibility to champion visibility, inclusivity and allyship, both on and off the stage.

“I’d like to commend Ollie and Glen for their vision and commitment in bringing this campaign to life and extend my sincere thanks to the remarkable West End performers who have so generously shared their voices and experiences. At a time when Pride events are facing increasing challenges, it is vital that we continue to amplify these stories and ensure that theatre remains a safe, vibrant space for everyone.”
