Congratulations to Theatre Royal Sydney’s General Manager, Houri Tapiki, who has just been announced as the winner of the Venue Professional of the Year Award at the 2025 Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) Awards.

The Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of professionals who have created memorable moments and events that shape the culture and history of the nation.

Having originally joined the Theatre Royal Sydney team as Head of Customer Experience – becoming one of the first three members of the venue’s management team – Houri became General Manager of the venue in 2021. With an extensive career history in customer experience across a diverse range of venues and events, Houri had previously led the Client Services teams at Ticketek.

Tim McFarlane, Executive Director (Asia Pacific), said: “Huge congratulations to Houri on her award win. The Venue Management Association is the peak body for venue industry professionals in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia with 1000+ Members, across 16+ countries, representing 300+ venues from diverse venue sectors including sports stadiums, arenas, performing arts, convention and exhibition centres, racetracks, showground and festivals, as well as suppliers to the industry.
