Sir Howard Panter is a prominent global theatre producer and an influential figure in the arts and entertainment industry with over 50 years’ experience gained in organisations such as The Royal Court Theatre, The Royal Shakespeare Company, and Michael Codron Ltd. A creative impresario, he has been responsible for nurturing the talents of some of the brightest lights in theatre and has been behind some of the most important production companies in the West End, UK regions, Broadway and internationally.

Howard is Creative Director at Trafalgar Entertainment. The production arm of TE, Trafalgar Theatre Productions, produces new shows and classic musicals in London and internationally including one of the all-time classic musical comedy farces, Kiss Me Kate, starring the multi-award-winning Adrian Dunbar and Broadway musical superstar and Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block at London’s Barbican Theatre in summer 2024, the Lincoln Center’s award-winning production of The King and I in London and worldwide, The Merchant of Venice 1936 in partnership with Watford Palace Theatre and the RSC (London and UK Tour), new musical comedy Clueless based on the Paramount Pictures classic film, the Tony and Olivier award-winning smash hit musical Jersey Boys, which opened the renovated Trafalgar Theatre in London alongside a UK Tour, a National Theatre co-production of Michael R. Jackson’s critically acclaimed, Pulitzer Prize and multi award-winning A Strange Loop at London’s Barbican Theatre in the summer of 2023, Broadway’s favourite multi award-winning musical, Alanis Morrisette’s Jagged Little Pill which opened at Trafalgar’s Theatre Royal Sydney in December 2021 and became the first major international production of it to open in Australia straight from Broadway without a West End season, a major revival of the award winning classic musical Anything Goes at London’s Barbican Theatre in the summers of 2021 and 2022, starring Sutton Foster, Robert Lindsay, Felicity Kendal and Gary Wilmot, the tenth anniversary UK & Ireland tour of the acclaimed National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, hilarious comedy Death Drop (London and UK Tour), the current 50th Anniversary World Tours of The Rocky Horror Show with numerous engagements in Australia and the UK, and a co-production of War Horse with The National Theatre in Australia and Asia-Pacific.

In the West End, productions have also included On Blueberry Hill, The National Theatre’s A Taste of Honey starring Jodie Prenger, Peter Nichols’ A Day in the Death of Joe Egg starring Toby Stephens, Claire Skinner and Patricia Hodge, Equus by Peter Shaffer, the hit comedy Education, Education, Education, the acclaimed award-winning play Admissions starring Alex Kingston, new British musical Tom Morris’ The Grinning Man, Apologia starring Stockard Channing and Killer Joe starring Orlando Bloom. Other co-productions have included the two sell-out ground-breaking productions: the Bush Theatre’s Misty and National Theatre’s Nine Night.

Co-productions include Good starring David Tennant, Death of a SalesmanThe Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Starry Messenger starring Matthew Broderick and Elizabeth McGovern at Wyndham’s Theatre, Mary Stuart starring Juliet Stevenson and Lia Williams at the Duke of York’s, and London season of The Messiah starring Hugh Dennis and The Height of The Storm at Wyndham’s Theatre starring Jonathan Pryce and Dame Eileen Atkins.

Prior to Trafalgar Entertainment, Howard and his wife/business partner, Dame Rosemary Squire, built from scratch and ran for its first 25 years, the world’s largest live theatre business – the Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd (ATG). Under their leadership, ATG became a premier international theatre owner and prolific, successful global producer.

Howard is a Director of the Rocky Horror Company Limited. He was Chair of The English Shakespeare Company, Director of West End theatre owners Maybox Group plc, Chair of the Birmingham Rep Theatre, and Chair of Rambert Dance Company, the UK’s leading national contemporary dance company, who under his ten-year Chairmanship successfully built their award-winning £22m new dance centre on the South Bank and led the company into a new era of success and stability.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS

Daniel and Matt are Executive Producers at Trafalgar Entertainment responsible for delivering TTP’s slate of productions. During their time at TE, Daniel and Matt have produced shows in the West End ranging from The King and I at the London Palladium, the five-star production of Anything Goes at the Barbican, a National Theatre co-production of Michael R. Jackson’s critically acclaimed, Pulitzer Prize and multi award-winning A Strange Loop at the Barbican and ground-breaking new productions such as Misty and Nine Night at Trafalgar Studios (all of which were nominated for multiple Olivier Awards). They are currently producing a number of productions for the West End and internationally including the international tour of The Rocky Horror Show, the international tour of The King and I, Kiss Me, Kate at the Barbican in Summer 2024 and also have a number of new productions in development.

Prior to joining TE, Daniel worked at the Royal Court Theatre as Associate Producer. At the Royal Court, Daniel worked on the commercial transfers of Royal Court shows to the West End and Broadway, as well as securing multi-year partnerships with organisations such as Bloomberg. During this time, Daniel also founded and ran his own production company, Daniel Brodie Productions, which produced shows across London and the UK including the hit The Patriotic Traitor at the Park Theatre, Facts by Arthur Milner and Brenda by E. V. Crowe. Daniel has also worked as a producer for the Tricycle Theatre, Eclipse Theatre, ATG and Mongrel Thumb.

Prior to joining TE, Matt was a specialist theatre and film lawyer at Harbottle & Lewis, one of London’s leading media and entertainment law firms, advising clients such as the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Secret Cinema, Monty Python, DreamWorks, Universal Pictures and Disney on a range of commercial, legal and business matters.

In 2022, Dan and Matt were named in The Stage 25, a “ones to watch” list that champions the next generation of theatre industry talent. The list recognises individuals who The Stage editorial team believe will play an important role in the theatre industry’s future and who could plausibly appear in The Stage 100 within the next 25 years.
